Serbia volleyball team faces crisis amid Nikola Grbić's success

The Serbian men's national volleyball team is facing a significant crisis following a 0-3 loss to Slovenia in the round of 16 at the European Championship. This result is noted as one of the team's worst performances in three decades, casting doubt on the future of head coach George Kre.

In contrast to the domestic struggle, former Serbian coach Nikola Grbić is seeing immense success with the Polish national team. Since taking over in Poland, Grbić has led the team to a European Championship title in 2023, Olympic silver in Paris in 2024, and various medals in the Nations League and World Championships. The disparity between the current state of the Serbian national team and Grbić's achievements abroad has sparked renewed debate regarding the decisions made by the Serbian Volleyball Association.
