Serbia welcomes 15 healthcare workers returning from abroad

Fifteen healthcare professionals are returning to Serbia to work in medical institutions across the country. These individuals, including specialist doctors, nurses, and technicians, previously worked in Germany, Austria, Italy, and Slovenia.

The returnees will be deployed to various cities, including Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš, Kraljevo, Vranje, Prokuplje, Sokobanja, and Bačka Palanka. Notable returnees include anesthesiologist Dr. Marko Miletić, who is joining the Special Hospital in Sokobanja, and internist Dr. Marko Lazić, who is returning to the University Clinical Center of Serbia.

Minister of Health Zlatibor Lončar stated that the Ministry, through the Office for Cooperation with the Diaspora, will continue to support medical workers wishing to return by providing assistance from initial contact through to integration into the domestic healthcare system. Lončar attributed this trend to strategic state investments in renewing healthcare facilities, modernizing equipment, and improving working conditions.
