Serbia workforce faces high job insecurity and productivity pressure
A recent study conducted by Infostud, Osiguranik, Rezilient, and TIM Centar reveals significant job insecurity among employees in Serbia. The research, which surveyed 3,452 employees and 842 decision-makers, found that seven out of ten employees fear losing their jobs or feel their positions are threatened.
Approximately 16 percent of respondents expressed high levels of concern regarding their employment status over the next 12 months. In response to economic and social uncertainty, 74 percent of companies have implemented various measures. The most common response is increased pressure on productivity, cited by 44 percent of employees. Other measures include salary freezes or raises (32 percent), hiring freezes (28 percent), layoffs (27 percent), and the removal of employee benefits (23 percent).
The report also highlights issues with corporate transparency, noting that only 26 percent of respondents feel management communicates openly about both positive and negative results during crises. Over half of the participants reported receiving information selectively, while 23 percent stated that communication is non-existent, leaving them to rely on speculation.
