Serbia Zijin Mining completes annual maintenance at Čukaru Peki mine

Serbia Zijin Mining has completed the annual scheduled maintenance of its facilities and plants at the Čukaru Peki mine. In a departure from previous years when maintenance typically occurred at year-end, the company conducted the works during the final days of summer to take advantage of warmer weather and avoid the difficulties posed by colder seasonal conditions.

The maintenance process involved approximately 100 different tasks aimed at improving equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety. Key activities included replacing mill linings, changing valves and belts, modifying pipelines, and replacing the main conveyor belt fabric, drive drums, and rollers.

In the mining plants, a three-day maintenance period focused on enhancing equipment safety and ensuring production continuity. Technical and electromechanical inspections were also performed on critical systems to prepare the facility for the upcoming autumn and winter periods.
