Serbian Alimentacion Fund Disburses Over 54 Million Dinars to 889 Children

The state‑run Alimentacion Fund in Serbia has paid out a total of 54 209 260 dinars to 889 children whose parents have failed to meet alimony obligations. Minister Jelena Žarić Kovačević said the fund ensures that “no child in Serbia should suffer while waiting to receive its rightful support,” highlighting the system as a key measure to protect children's rights and prevent economic violence.

In the town of Sombor, local authorities introduced additional financial aid for families. A parental allowance of up to 100 000 dinars is offered for the first child born in the calendar year, while unemployed mothers receive a one‑time payment of 60 000 dinars. Forty mothers received the parental allowance and fourteen unemployed mothers obtained the one‑off assistance, reflecting the city’s annual budget allocation of more than 17 million dinars for family‑support measures.
