Serbian Armed Forces conduct training with Pancir S-1 air defense system

Members of the 250th Air Defense Missile Brigade of the Serbian Armed Forces are undergoing intensive training with the Pancir S-1 hybrid artillery-missile system. The training focuses on improving tactical skills, including rapid deployment from moving positions, transitioning the system from marching to combat mode, and the efficient detection and engagement of targets in both air and ground environments.

Lieutenant Colonel Predrag Mišić, the division commander, emphasized that the complexity of these tasks requires high levels of concentration, teamwork, and mutual trust among crew members. The training also includes the rapid replenishment of combat kits, involving the reloading of vehicles with missiles and artillery ammunition under strict time constraints and safety protocols.

The Pancir S-1 system is designed to protect military, administrative-political, and economic facilities. It is capable of engaging aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, drones, guided bombs, and high-precision weapons traveling at speeds up to 1,000 meters per second, at altitudes up to 15 kilometers and distances up to 20 kilometers. The system can also provide support against ground and water targets.
