Serbian Army reconstructs road near Prokuplje

Members of the Serbian Army have been engaged for two weeks in reconstructing a six-kilometer road section connecting the villages of Merovac, Belogoš, and Donja Rečica in the Prokuplje municipality.

The work is being carried out by an engineering group from the 310th Engineering Battalion of the Third Land Force Brigade as part of regular training, in cooperation with a local public utility company. According to Petar Ilić, commander of the road department, the road had suffered significant damage due to long-term use. Tasks include clearing vegetation, widening the road, repairing potholes, and installing drainage systems.

Local residents, including Vladica Jovanović, president of the Belogoš local community, expressed gratitude for the repairs, noting that the road is vital for residents of over ten villages to access schools, jobs, and medical services.
