Serbian athletes aim for medals at 2026 European Championships in Birmingham

Javelin thrower Adriana Vilagoš, ranked second worldwide behind Norway's Sigrid Borge, said her goal for the European Championships in Birmingham (10‑16 August) is to throw farther than she has this season, targeting a top‑place finish. Her best mark this year is 63.83 m, and she hopes to improve on her recent performances despite occasional technical issues.

High jumper Angelina Topić, who broke the Serbian two‑metre barrier and won silver at the World Indoor Championships, expressed confidence ahead of the same event. She aims to deliver her best possible result amid a strong field that includes Olympic champion Jaroslava Mahučih, acknowledging that she can only control her own preparation. Qualification rounds for the athletes are scheduled for 13 August, with finals to follow later in the week.
