Serbian authorities slammed over Senjaku murder handling and attack on journalist Veran Matić

Zdravko Pošn, leader of the Serbia Center (SRCE), said the prosecution’s response to the public murder in Senjaku revealed a scandalous system that shields high‑level police officials and allows suspect releases, undermining public trust in the judiciary. He criticized the lack of accountability within the prosecution, the special anti‑terror unit, and the BIA, arguing that reforms are needed.

The Serbia Center also condemned the violent assault on ANEM president Veran Matić outside the National Assembly, describing it as “pure fascism” and accusing state security forces of failing to intervene. The group linked the attack to the paramilitary encampment in the Ćaciland area near the parliament, calling for the immediate prosecution of the perpetrators and the officials responsible for security lapses.
