Serbia: Political resignations and aviation controversy follow elections

Following recent parliamentary elections in Serbia, several significant political and media shifts have occurred. Miloš Jovanović has announced his resignation as president of the New DSS and his withdrawal from the public scene after his list, 'Autentična desnica', failed to enter the National Assembly, securing approximately 1.5 percent of the vote.

In the media sector, Nenad Ćaćić has resigned as the editor-in-chief of RTV Vojvodina. The resignation followed discussions between employees, union representatives, and the station's general director, Goran Karadžić. Union leaders stated the move was intended to free the program from political influence.

Additionally, Democratic Party leader Srđan Milivojević raised concerns regarding a decision by the Directorate of Civil Aviation to allow small aircraft to operate from several airports, including Niš, Vršac, Kraljevo, and Kragujevac, outside of regular working hours. While Milivojević suggested the timing on election day was unusual and alluded to private aviation fleets, reports indicate the measure is a seasonal regulation similar to those implemented in previous years.
