Serbian Basketball Coach Adds New Assistant Ahead of August Friendlies and World Cup Qualifiers

Serbia's senior basketball team, led by coach Dušan Alimpijević, has brought long‑time collaborator Marko Barać onto the coaching staff for the busy August schedule, as several regular assistants are tied up with club duties. The expanded staff also includes Tomislav Tomović (Lokomotiv Krasnodar), Vladimir Jovanović (Mitteldeutscher), Milenko Bogićević (Oldenburg) and Stevan Mijović (AEK Athens). Serbia will face France in Belgrade on 20 August, travel to Orléans for a second friendly three days later, then play Iceland on 28 August and Italy in Pescara on 31 August, matches that will influence its bid for the 2027 World Cup, where it currently sits at 4‑2 in Group J.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, selector Mario Marjanović announced a 16‑player roster for the U‑14 national team. The youngsters will train in Tuzla from 5‑9 August before a friendly against Croatia in Daruvar on 10 August. They will then compete in the prestigious Slovenia Ball tournament in Slovenj Gradec from 12‑16 August, gaining valuable experience against top European peers.
