Serbian blood donation drive held in six Belgrade churches

A voluntary blood‑donation campaign was organized today from 10:00 to 14:00 in six Belgrade churches. The event is a joint effort of the Institute for Transfusion of Blood of Serbia and the Serbian Orthodox Church.

The donation sites are: Voždovac – Church of St. John Vladimir, Vračar – Temple of St. Sava, New Belgrade – Church of St. Simeon the Myrrh‑gusher, Palilula – Church of St. Apostle and Evangelist Mark, Stari Grad – Church of St. Alexander Nevsky, and Čukarica – Church of the Ascension of the Lord. Organisers invited all healthy adults to donate, noting that a single unit of blood can save multiple lives.

The Serbian Orthodox Church highlighted its long‑term partnership with the Institute, and Patriarch Porfirije, a regular donor himself, personally took part and urged citizens to join the humanitarian effort.
