Serbian Boxing Association changes name to reflect identity

The Boxing Association of Serbia has officially changed its name to the Serbian Boxing Association. The decision follows initiatives from numerous boxers, coaches, and clubs across Serbia and Republika Srpska to more clearly reflect the identity, tradition, and belonging of Serbian boxing.

President Nenad Borovčanin stated that the change marks a new phase for the sport, aiming to build a system that provides optimal conditions for development while remaining competitive globally. Key priorities include improving conditions for the national team and fostering discipline and ethics among athletes.

As part of this strategic shift, a new Serbian Boxing Training Center is being constructed in New Belgrade with funding from the Serbian Government. The facility is expected to become one of the world’s most modern boxing centers by mid-next year, serving as a hub for national and international training.
