Serbian President Brnabić cites Goran Ješić tweet while rebuking opposition over Vojvodina remarks

President Ana Brnabić posted on X reminding opposition members Marinika Tepić of the Socialist Party of Serbia and Borko Stefanović of a tweet by Goran Ješić from October 2022. In that tweet Ješić claimed a “detachment of Vojvodina” and referenced a dedicated phone code (+384) as part of the “Platform for European Serbia”. Brnabić’s comment read, “I will also leave this nonsense for Borko, I’m sure he’s just pretending to be crazy!”

Tepić and Stefanović had earlier reacted to Brnabić’s own tweet about their tour of Vojvodina, prompting the president’s reminder. The exchange escalated with Tepić calling Brnabić “shameless” and Stefanović branding her remarks “dangerous”. The spat reflects ongoing tensions between the ruling government and opposition over regional autonomy and political messaging in Serbia.
