Serbian cultural institutions mark literary anniversaries
Serbia is observing several significant cultural milestones marking the 150th anniversaries of prominent literary and diplomatic figures.
In Vranje, the Bora Stanković Library is hosting a discussion titled ‘In Search of Tašana’ on October 8, 2026. The event, featuring writer Nebojša Bradić and dramaturg Aleksandar Milosavljević, explores the enigmatic character Tašana and the lost drama of the same name, as part of the year-long celebrations of Bora Stanković’s birth.
In Belgrade, the Belgrade City Library has opened an exhibition dedicated to Milan Rakić, a poet, diplomat, and academic. The display includes archival materials, ethnographic collections from Kosovo and Metohija, and multimedia installations to present his life and work to modern audiences. The exhibition runs until October 6.
Additionally, the third issue of Detinjstvo magazine has been released, focusing on the life and works of children's authors Dobrica Erić and Branko Stevanović.
