Serbian Culture Month begins in Czech Republic with theater and art

The Month of Serbian Culture in the Czech Republic is underway, featuring a diverse program of music, theater, fine arts, and gastronomy in Prague and Brno. Organized by the Alliance of Serbian Associations in cooperation with the Serbian Embassy in Prague and the Honorary Consulate in Brno, the event runs through October 24.

Key highlights include the monodrama ‘Knjiga o Milutinu – part one’, performed by Nenad Jezdić, which will be staged at Divadlo Komedie in Prague on October 12 and Divadlo Radost in Brno on October 13. The theatrical program is complemented by musical performances from opera singer Jadranka Jovanović and vocalist Dušan Svilar, with a closing performance by Gabriela Ubavić at the Clementinum.

Visual arts and culinary traditions are also central to the festival. The program includes Steve Bajalić’s ‘Dream Catcher’ exhibition at the Original gallery and a presentation of Serbian wines and spirits from over 30 wineries at the Kaiserstein Palace. Additionally, the Serbian-Czech association ‘Beseda Petrovaradin’ will present an exhibition titled ‘Czechs in the Serbian Orthodox Church’ on October 16, exploring historical ties between the two nations.
