Serbian detainees Milomir Jaćimović freed, Veselin Milić receives threats in Belgrade prison

Milomir Jaćimović, a transport entrepreneur from Đurđevo, was released from the District Prison in Novi Sad after the civil movement Bravo paid his 30,000‑dinara fine, preventing him from staying incarcerated with his son amid new security concerns. He had begun serving a one‑month sentence on 15 June for unpaid traffic violations, having previously paid four million dinars in fines, and warned he could no longer afford further penalties.

The Administration for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions (UIKS) said it is taking extra measures to protect all individuals deprived of liberty at the Belgrade District Prison after unknown persons threatened former Belgrade police chief Veselin Milić, who remains in detention. The Public Prosecutor's Office ordered an urgent investigation to identify the perpetrators. Milić's pre‑trial detention was extended on 12 June 2026 and can last until 12 July 2026.
