Serbian Energy Minister Dubravka Đedović Handanović faces NIS sale talks and Croatian company controversy

Dubravka Đedović Handanović, Serbia’s minister of mining and energy, said negotiations on the sale of the state oil firm NIS to Russian‑German partners Gaspromnjekft and MOL are advancing despite complexity. She noted a ten‑day deadline for the buyer and seller to finalize the deal, which will still require approval from the U.S. administration, and stressed that Serbia will not be a stumbling block in the transaction.

In a separate matter, the minister was accused by a former politician of hiding ownership of a Croatian company. Đedović Handanović rejected the claim, stating the firm has no business activity, generates no revenue, and that all her assets—including a 35% stake in a 22,000‑square‑meter agricultural plot—are fully declared to the authorities.
