Serbian firms urged to invest despite economic downturn
Two recent opinion pieces highlight how Serbian businesses can turn the current economic turbulence into a competitive advantage. The first article outlines four reasons to invest during a crisis: competitors often cut marketing and become invisible, creating a gap for bold firms; talent and valuable assets become cheaper as layoffs increase; strategic spending can capture lasting market share; and early commitment positions companies for rapid post‑crisis growth.
The second piece stresses that trust and resilience have become the most valuable capital. It argues that companies must prioritize risk management, continuity planning, and digital transformation that goes beyond buying software, focusing instead on changing processes and work models. Together, the articles advise Serbian leaders to adopt aggressive, yet measured, investment and modernization strategies to emerge stronger from ongoing instability.
