Serbian First League features veteran scorers and rising youth talents
The Serbian First League is seeing significant activity driven by both experienced players and emerging young talents. Borac Čačak currently leads the league, while Smederevo holds third place.
Former Bosnian Premier League players are making a notable impact on the Serbian second tier. Irfan Hadžić, who previously played for Zrinjski, Radnik Bijeljina, and Tuzla City, is currently the league's top scorer with nine goals in eleven matches for Smederevo. Additionally, Milan Jevtović, the captain of Borac Čačak and former Velež player, has scored eight goals and is on a scoring streak in seven consecutive matches.
Alongside these veterans, the league serves as a developmental platform for young players from clubs like Red Star, Partizan, RFK Grafičar, and Teleoptika. Notable prospects include Teleoptika’s Vojin Marinković and RFK Grafičar’s 16-year-old Ognjen Matanović, the latter of whom recently became one of the youngest debutants in Red Star Belgrade's history.
