Red Star Belgrade ramps up pre‑season with new signings and squad overhaul

Red Star Belgrade has begun pre‑season training for the 2026/27 campaign, focusing on both domestic and European qualifications. Coach Dejan Stanković stressed that the club will not underestimate the Serbian league and aims to reach the Champions League, while also warning that high expectations can lead to disappointment. The team has already added four players – goalkeeper Muhamed Čam, wingers Loizos Loizu and Kristijan Balov, and midfielder Mohamed Abu Fani – as part of a summer reinforcement drive. At the same time, the club is preparing to off‑load several members of the squad, including defenders Nemanja Radonjić, Omri Glazer and Jegor Prucev, as well as forward Stefan Leković who has moved to Estoril in Portugal. Zvezdan Terzić reiterated that the priority is a focused run in the Champions League qualifiers and that no major departures are planned before those matches. Stanković also hinted that a “bomb” – a potentially impactful signing – may arrive toward the end of August, underscoring the club’s intent to strengthen further before the season starts.
