Serbian health ministry facilitates return of ten diaspora medical professionals

Through the Office for Cooperation with the Diaspora of the Ministry of Health, ten doctors, pharmacists, nurses and medical technicians are resettling in Serbia after years of work abroad in Germany, Sweden, Slovenia and Norway. The staff will serve facilities in Vranje, Kruševac, Kraljevo, Pećinci, Sombor, Kragujevac, Aleksinac, Prokuplje, Novi Sad and Belgrade, with employment contracts signed by Health Minister Zlatibor Lončar.

Among the returnees are neurologist Dr Milan Ralović, former head of Marien‑Hospital Euskirchen in Germany, pediatrician Dr Dragana Ćirković from Slovenia, pharmacist Tamara Dražić from Norway, nurses Jelena Bobeva, Danica Popović and Tatjana Fakin, and technicians Zoran Lazarević, Miodrag Vojinović, Igor Stojanović and Aleksandar Mijajlović, who spent a decade in Sweden. The ministry notes that more than 350 diaspora medics are already employed in the domestic health system and that interest in returning continues to grow, helped by recent investments in modern hospitals and equipment under President Aleksandar Vučić.
