Serbian Interior Ministry blocks address data on 130,000 new citizens, alleges Dragan Đilas
Opposition leader Dragan Đilas, president of the Party of Freedom and Justice (SSP), said the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) has refused to give members of the Commission for Revision of the Electoral List the addresses of 133,134 people who obtained Serbian citizenship between 2020 and 2025. Đilas claims that the data would show that many of the registered residences are fictitious, suggesting systematic manipulation of the voter register.
He warned that, if false addresses are confirmed, criminal complaints should be filed against both the individuals who provided the false information and those who facilitated it, describing the practice as electoral fraud. Đilas said the SSP will continue to press MUP for the information and urged those with alleged false residences to reconsider repeating the alleged wrongdoing in future elections.
