Serbian journalists Darija Ranković and Slavica Vujanac targeted on TV Informer, SafeJournalists demand action

The regional network SafeJournalists condemned the public targeting of Serbian reporters Darija Ranković of Kolubarski and Slavica Vujanac of vamedia.info during the "Paralela" program on the Informer television channel. Host Andrea Veskov accused the journalists without evidence of "state destruction", "racketeering" and "extortion", displayed their photographs and made remarks about their appearance, which the network described as sexist and degrading. Srpski telegraf director Saša Milovanović added that local officials allegedly pay a "racket" to opposition media.

SafeJournalists warned that such unfounded accusations jeopardize the safety and professional integrity of journalists and called on Serbia's Ministry of Information and Telecommunications to publicly condemn the attacks. The network said it will inform relevant domestic and international actors monitoring press freedom and journalist safety.
