Serbian Media Council to Hold First Constitutive Session on July 20

Member Miloš Garić said the Council of Electronic Media (Savet REM) is ready to begin work at its first constitutive meeting on Monday, 20 July. The council will start by electing its president and deputy, a step Garić described as crucial for the body’s upcoming tasks.

He added that the council recently held a constructive meeting and dismissed public rumors that its members cannot agree on any issue. In addition to selecting leadership, the council will oversee the appointment of new members to the boards of public broadcasters RTS and RTV as Serbia approaches parliamentary elections.
