Serbian media group Alo expands ownership in North Macedonia
Serbian media businessmen linked to President Aleksandar Vučić are acquiring two North Macedonian outlets. The group Alo Media Sistem DOO Beograd has signed a letter of intent to buy the national cable channel Naša TV and the regional station Radio RFM, currently owned by Risto Gogovski. The transactions are being routed through a locally‑registered entity, Alo Media Sistem DOOEL Skopje, and are subject to approval by the Audio‑Visual Media Services Council (AVMU) and the Competition Commission, which will assess any monopolistic impact.
The deal would mark the first major Serbian‑backed media expansion beyond Serbia’s borders, following previous purchases of online portals in Montenegro and stakes in Montenegro’s Studio B and a share of Informer. Authorities have three months to decide on the ownership change, after which the sale could be completed within 90 days.
