Serbian Minister honors fallen veteran and addresses elderly care needs

Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski, the Serbian Minister for Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs in a technical mandate, has conducted several visits to address veteran honors and social welfare needs.

In Donja Leskovica, the Minister presented a Veteran's Commemorative Medal to Anica Mirković, the mother of Stojadin Mirković. Mirković was a 19-year-old JNA soldier who died 35 years ago near Bjelovar while remaining at his post alongside Major Milan Tepić. The Minister emphasized that honoring fallen veterans and their families is a state obligation.

Additionally, during a visit to the Zabučje Nursing Home in the Užice region, the Minister noted that the facility has reached full capacity with 20 individuals currently on a waiting list. She stated that the Ministry is considering expanding elderly care capacities within the Zlatibor District. The Minister also identified a shortage of staff, specifically caregivers and medical personnel, as a primary issue and confirmed that the Ministry would respond to the institution's requests for support.
