Serbian Minister Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski advances parent‑carer law and funds Blind Union
Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Issues Minister Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski presented a draft Law on the status of parent‑carer. The proposal would count every day of care as work seniority, allow previous employment periods to be added to the total, and grant a monthly allowance of 65,000 dinars that will be indexed to the average national salary. The law, slated for a parliamentary vote in July, is expected to take effect on 1 October.
On the same day the minister signed a contract with the Blind Union of Serbia, allocating 14 million dinars for the organisation’s projects. The ministry has earmarked 500 million dinars for disability‑related associations this year, including funds for inclusive playgrounds, pool lifts, ramps and accessible vehicles. Đurđević Stamenkovski also highlighted the upcoming central register of persons with disabilities and affirmed that tax relief for employers hiring disabled workers will be maintained despite EU pressure.
