Serbian Ministry of Defense opens recruitment for special forces

The Serbian Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces have announced a public recruitment competition for the 72nd Special Operations Brigade and the 63rd Parachute Brigade. The application period is open from November 1 to November 30, 2026.

Eligible applicants must be citizens of the Republic of Serbia, aged 18 or older, with at least a secondary school education. The selection process includes medical testing, psychological assessment, physical fitness evaluations, and security checks, followed by basic and selective training.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to enter professional military service. Initial contracts are for a fixed term of six months, with the possibility of extension for a fixed or indefinite period. Members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade will be stationed in Niš, while those joining the 72nd Special Operations Brigade will serve in Pančevo.
