Serbian National Council condemns historian Mario Jareb's HRT interview

The Serbian National Council (SNV) issued an open letter to the leadership of Croatian Radio Television (HRT) and its editor Mislav Togonol after historian Mario Jareb appeared on a program and presented what SNV described as a revisionist interpretation of the 1941 Srbu uprising. SNV spokesperson Eugen Jakovčić and council president Boris Milošević accused Jareb of portraying the uprising as led by local Serbs under Chetnik influence, minimizing Ustaša crimes, and claiming ethnic cleansing of Croats and Muslims, which they labelled false.

The council demanded that HRT cease broadcasting Jareb's statements, called for censorship of the interview, urged the public to boycott the broadcaster, and promoted a live tribune featuring historians Milan Radanović, Igor Mrkalj and Ivo Goldstein to discuss the Srbu events. SNV framed the issue as protecting historical truth and preventing hate speech.
