Serbian officials deny media access to pensioners' forum in Bečej
In Serbia, journalists from Bečejski mozaik and Webinfo were denied access to a forum featuring state and local officials and pensioners in Bečej, despite having received invitations and accreditation. The event included Relja Ognjenović, director of the Republic Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, and Dubravka Đedović Handanović, the Minister of Mining and Energy in a technical mandate. Officials reportedly blocked the journalists from entering the hotel or filming the start of the session, though they eventually spoke briefly to the press about measures to improve pensioners' conditions.
Separately, the Pensioners' Party of Montenegro has issued a statement expressing strong support for Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. The party emphasized the importance of stability, economic development, and infrastructure projects for Serbia's future. They highlighted Vučić's diplomatic efforts to maintain communication with various global powers, including the US, China, Russia, and France, as a means of protecting national interests during periods of international conflict.
