Serbian officials hold Vidovdan academies in Kosovo's Mitrovica and Gračanica

A ceremonial Vidovdan academy was held at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Kosovska Mitrovica to mark the University Day of the University of Priština, which operates from a temporary seat in the town. The event was attended by representatives of the Serbian Ministry of Education, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, delegations from other state universities, as well as professors, deans and students. Rector Nebojša Arsić stressed the university’s role in educating the region’s youth, while Deputy Minister of Education Alexander Jović said students are the greatest asset of Serbia. Awards such as the "Vidovdan plaquettes" and "Vidovdan recognitions" were presented to institutions and individuals for contributions to education, science and culture.

In Gračanica, a Vidovdan academy took place in the large hall of the Cultural Center, drawing a sizable crowd of citizens, local officials and representatives of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija. A letter read by Deputy Director Dušica Nikolić conveyed Director Petar Petković’s message that Serbia stands with its people in Kosovo and Metohija, invoking the legacy of Prince Lazar and urging unity. Local clergy and the mayor also highlighted the historical and spiritual significance of the celebration, reaffirming support from President Aleksandar Vučić and the Serbian government.
