Serbian opposition urges stronger stance against President Aleksandar Vučić

Serbian politician Stefan Janić, a member of the Serbia Centre party, criticised the online platform “Ko si bre ti” launched by President Aleksandar Vučić, saying it merely acknowledges that state institutions such as the prosecutor’s office and police are failing to address corruption. He argued that existing legal bodies should handle complaints and that the platform is redundant if institutions function properly, framing it as a political marketing tool rather than a genuine anti‑corruption measure.

Legal scholar Miodrag Jovanović, a member of the ProGlas movement, argued that the public’s anger toward President Vučić is insufficient. In a podcast, he called for a stronger expression of negative sentiment, claiming Vučić’s actions deserve far more outrage. Jovanović also highlighted internal divisions within the student blockade and among opposition parties, noting a lack of unity and effective agreements.

Both speakers framed their comments as part of a broader critique of Vučić’s governance and the effectiveness of opposition mechanisms in Serbia.
