Serbian Orthodox Church commemorates Saint Babylas and Prophet Moses

The Serbian Orthodox Church is observing the feast days of Saint Hieromartyr Babylas and the Prophet Moses.

Saint Babylas, an Antiochian bishop during the reign of Emperor Numerian, is commemorated for his martyrdom. According to tradition, he refused to allow the Emperor to enter a Christian temple during liturgy, leading to his arrest and subsequent execution. He was reportedly tortured and beheaded alongside his disciples.

The church also honors the Prophet Moses, the leader of the Israelites, noting his historical roles in Egypt and the wilderness, as well as his spiritual significance in Christian tradition.
