Serbian Patriarch Porfirije meets Slovenian PM Janez Janša

Patriarch Porfirije of the Serbian Orthodox Church met with Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janša in Ljubljana. The meeting took place during the Patriarch's visit to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the Serbian Orthodox Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius in the capital.

During the discussion, which included Bishop Kirill of Buenos Aires and South and Central America, the leaders addressed the growing presence of the Serbian Orthodox community in Slovenia. They emphasized that mutual respect, understanding, and a culture of dialogue are essential for maintaining peace and social coexistence.

The participants highlighted the importance of strengthening communication between state institutions and religious communities to build a society that respects human dignity, religious freedom, and the legal rights of communities to fulfill their missions.
