Serbian pension fund expands town‑hall talks, unveils new pension and drug‑price relief package

On 11 June, the Public Pension Fund (PIO) and the Union of Pensioners of Serbia held public tribunes in Aleksandrovac and Kruševac, drawing about 800 pensioners. Director Relja Ognjenović said strong interest prompted the programme to expand from the initially planned 40 meetings to 80, with a goal of reaching 20‑25  thousand pensioners overall.

The officials announced a new state package aimed at raising pension levels, lowering drug prices and providing comprehensive support for veterans and socially vulnerable groups, affecting over one million citizens. Local authorities—including Aleksandrovac mayor Jelena Paunović and Kruševac mayor Ivan Manojlović—participated, and partners such as Banka Poštanska štedionica and Dunav osiguranje supported the events.
