Serbian Pension Fund Sets Deadlines for Family Pension Documentation
The Republic Fund for Pension and Disability Insurance (Serbia) requires children receiving a family pension to submit proof of school enrollment to continue payments. High‑school students must deliver the certificate in September, immediately after the new school year begins, while university students must provide an enrollment confirmation in October. The pension is payable until the child turns 20 if attending secondary school, or until 26 for higher‑education students, provided the documentation is submitted on time. The fund warns that failure to meet these deadlines may interrupt or stop pension disbursements.
The required certificate must include the child’s identity, the educational institution’s details, the relevant school or academic year, the student’s status, and the parent’s identification number linked to the pension. Submissions can be made in person at the local PIO branch or sent by mail.
