Serbian poetry audio archive released on Wikimedia Commons
Journalist and audio producer Milinko Vasiljević has released a collection of professional audio recordings of significant Serbian poetry to Wikimedia Commons. By using a Creative Commons license, these recordings are now part of a global digital repository, making them freely available for anyone to listen to, share, and use.
The archive includes 13 interpretations of works by prominent poets such as Jovan Dučić, Aleksa Šantić, Laza Kostić, Milan Rakić, Vladislav Petković Dis, Đura Jakšić, Jovan Jovanović Zmaj, and Dušan Vasiljev.
This digital initiative aims to preserve Serbian linguistic heritage and provide accessible educational resources. The recordings are intended to assist students and teachers in literature classes, support visually impaired individuals, and serve as a reference for cultural institutions and museums. The project also emphasizes the importance of proper diction and accentuation in preserving the Serbian language.
