Serbian police chief Vespelin Milic arrested in murder case of Aleksandar Neshovich

A body believed to be that of Aleksandar Neshovich was discovered in a metal bunker near the municipality of Indjija. Police investigations link the killing to a 12 May shooting at the "27" restaurant in Belgrade's Senjak district.

Belgrade police chief Vespelin Milic was detained on 15 May and charged with involvement in the murder and alleged cover‑up. Prosecutors have seized numerous items, including phones, computers and vehicles, and have issued multiple forensic orders, including DNA testing of the remains.

President Aleksandar Vučić said the case confirms a "monstrous" element within the police and promised a harsh response against criminal networks and corruption within the force.
