Serbian police locate body of missing murder victim Aleksandar Nešović Baji in barrel near Inđija

A barrel uncovered near the village of Jarkovci, close to Inđija, contained a human body that investigators believe belongs to Aleksandar Nešović Baji, who vanished nine days after a shooting at Belgrade’s restaurant “27.” The incident on the Belgrade promenade involved Saša Vuković, known as “Boske,” who allegedly opened fire on Nešović in the presence of senior police officials, including the then‑head of Belgrade police, Veselin Milić.

Following the shooting, Nešović’s body was reportedly moved to an unknown location and efforts to locate it involved police, gendarmerie and Serbian army units. The recent discovery of the body in the barrel will be sent to the Institute of forensic medicine for autopsy and DNA analysis to confirm identity. The investigation has resulted in ten arrests, nine of whom are in custody while one is under house arrest, and authorities have seized phones, computers, hard drives and vehicles as evidence. Dozens of forensic orders have been issued, including DNA profiling, ballistics testing and electronic device examinations, as prosecutors seek to map the chain of events surrounding the high‑profile homicide.
