Vuk Vulević arrested in Belgrade, Montenegro seeks extradition

Serbian police detained Vuk Vulević, a 51‑year‑old dual citizen of Montenegro and Serbia, in a restaurant in Belgrade. He was wanted on a red Interpol notice issued by Montenegro for organized‑crime offenses, including drug trafficking and illicit weapon possession. Officers seized falsified Kosovo‑issued identity documents and two mobile phones. Montenegrin authorities have formally requested his extradition, citing his alleged role as a senior figure in a criminal network linked to the Vasa Ulić and Radoje Zvicer clans, which is accused of attempting to smuggle about 2.5 tonnes of cocaine from South America to Europe and Australia. The Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized that the operation resulted from its own investigative work, while also noting the importance of international police cooperation.
