During Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić’s visit to his family village Čipuljić near Bugojno on 3 August, a group of about thirty armed members of the Republic Srpska (RS) Special Anti‑Terrorist Unit (SAJ) entered the surrounding forest in civilian clothing without prior notification to the local police of the Srednjobosanski kanton (SBK) or the joint coordination body (DKPT). The officers of SBK confronted the unit, ordered it to leave the canton and later observed the group retreating toward Donji Vakuf. One of the three vehicles used was registered to the RS police, the other two to a different legal entity.

The incursion prompted strong reactions. RS entity parliament member Ramiz Salkić called it a “security system weakness” and demanded a decisive response. BiH Defence Minister Zukan Helez criticised Vučić for bypassing security procedures, while RS Minister of Interior Željko Budimir suggested the episode may have been a procedural oversight. The incident was widely reported as an unauthorized security operation that violated the constitutional division of police authority between the entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
