Aleksandar Vučić's Bosnia visit triggers security clash and Kosovo mass‑grave dispute

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić visited his birthplace village Čipuljić near Bugojno in Bosnia and Herzegovina, accompanied by Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik. During the trip, about thirty armed members of the Special Anti‑Terrorist Unit (SAJ) of the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska were seen moving in civilian clothes on quad‑bikes and vans in the forest near Bugojno. The local police of the Srednjobosanski Canton (MUP SBK) intercepted the group, ordered them to leave, and the RS officers retreated toward Donji Vakuf. The incident raised questions about an unauthorised RS police presence across the entity line and whether the unit was conducting reconnaissance for Dodik, violating agreed security protocols for foreign delegations.

Vučić has also been commenting on Kosovo, calling the Kosovo police’s investigations of wartime crimes “terror” and demanding that Serbia open its military archives. Meanwhile, Kosovo prosecutors continue excavations of suspected mass‑grave sites in Zubin Potok, reporting a third location where human remains from the 1998‑99 conflict have been found. Vučić’s statements have not addressed the mass‑grave investigations.
