Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić Faces Criticism Over Montenegro Visit and Croatian TV Controversy

The Serbian opposition group Monarhisti said that during President Aleksandar Vučić's stop in Tivat, Montenegro, a group of people linked to criminal networks was organized to greet him at the airport, suggesting the president implicitly confirmed that his most loyal supporters come from the criminal milieu. They demanded clarification on who arranged the travel, who paid for the flight, and whether any state resources were used.

In a separate incident, Vučić reacted to the broadcast on Croatia’s public broadcaster HRT of a concert by Marko Perković Thompson, which featured the Ustasha chant “Za dom spremni”. Vučić said he had not been informed about the program, reiterated Serbia’s anti‑fascist stance, and called for improved relations with Croatia while condemning the use of extremist symbols.
