Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić launches premiership campaign and announces diaspora subsidy package

President Aleksandar Vučić said he will resign as head of state and run for prime minister on the Serbian Progressive Party list, travelling across the country in his personal car to seek voter support. He indicated that parliamentary elections could be called within 80‑120 days, with his resignation to follow the election announcement.

Vučić also unveiled a large subsidy programme aimed at Serbs living abroad, promising financial incentives to encourage their return and to apply skills gained overseas to Serbia’s development. The plan will be presented soon and targets diaspora members wishing to relocate and work in the country.
