Aleksandar Vučić Calls Mass Rally in Belgrade for June 27

President Aleksandar Vučić announced a large public rally scheduled for 27 June on the plaza in front of the Serbian parliament. In a video message he presented a paper – described as a “voting sheet” – that will allow attendees to mark five of fifteen preset priority topics, such as peace and stability, the status of Kosovo and Metohija, health care, education, pension growth, drug prices, energy security, culture and ecology. He emphasized that the sheet is not an electoral ballot but an important tool for citizens to voice their concerns, and he added that a new portal, “Ko si bre ti,” will let people report misconduct by officials.

Speaker of the National Assembly Ana Brnabić urged citizens to attend, calling the event “Serbia one family” and stressing support for President Vučić and his family as a sign of national unity. She portrayed the rally as a chance to show “a decent and normal Serbia.”

Meanwhile, employees of Belgrade’s public‑transport company GSP announced a protest walk on 24 June to the same location, demanding the purchase of new trolleybuses and buses and assurances that public‑transport lines will not be handed over to private operators. The rally occurs amid heightened political tensions and recent opposition protests, and officials framed it as a demonstration of popular backing for the government.
