Serbian Prosecutors Seek Detention of Exiled Military Analyst Aleksandar Radić

Serbian higher prosecutors filed a criminal complaint and requested pre‑trial detention and an arrest warrant for journalist and military analyst Aleksandar Radić, who left the country in June 2026. Authorities allege he obtained classified information through contacts in state institutions and publicised unverified claims about a "sound cannon" used against demonstrators at a March 2025 Belgrade protest, potentially endangering the constitutional order. Seized phones and computers showed communications with journalists, politicians and military personnel on Signal, Viber, Telegram and Facebook. Prosecutors argue Radić poses a flight risk. His lawyer, Stefan Ćorda, describes the charges as unfounded and the prosecution as excessive, noting Radić’s cooperation with authorities. A court will decide on the request.
