Zagreb Botinec crash kills three, driver lacked licence
On the night of 6 August 2026, a Mazda driven by a 35‑year‑old woman left Dr. Luje Naletilića street in the Botinec neighbourhood of Zagreb, struck a concrete electric pole and split in two. The driver had no valid driving licence and the vehicle’s traffic permit and registration had expired the previous year. All three occupants – the driver, a 48‑year‑old male passenger who died at the scene and a 29‑year‑old male passenger who later died in hospital – were killed.
