Serbian seasonal worker alleges abuse and poor conditions at Croatian island restaurant

A Serbian woman named Jasmina, with ten years of hospitality experience, posted on TikTok about her summer job on Baška, the island of Krk in Croatia. She described severe workplace problems: broken sewage, inadequate kitchen facilities, barely functional refrigeration, and repeatedly served inedible food. Accommodation was limited to a single plastic shelf and a small fridge, with no proper beds or storage. Jasmina said she was told she would receive her salary only at the end of the season, after working longer hours than agreed. She also recounted harassment from the owner’s sons and a disturbing incident where the owner’s daughter asked for her bra size, along with vulgar comments and threats. The account highlights mistreatment of seasonal workers in the region.
