Serbian Special Forces conduct military drills near Bosnia border

The Serbian Armed Forces conducted a three-day tactical training exercise from September 15 to 18 involving the 72nd Special Operations Brigade. The maneuvers took place near Lake Perućac, an area situated along the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Activities included movement through steep terrain, swimming with combat equipment, and the use of assault boats and drones. The Serbian Ministry of Defense stated that these annual summer exercises are designed to improve unit readiness in realistic mountain and water environments. The exercises were observed by the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović, and the Commander of the Ohio National Guard, Brigadier General Matthew Woodruff.

The heavy gunfire and movement of military boats caused concern among residents of nearby returnee settlements, such as Klotjevac, on the Bosnian side of the border. While unconfirmed reports circulated regarding a potential border violation, no official confirmation of a breach of the state border has been issued by Bosnian authorities.
