Serbian SRCE Party Says President Vučić’s €600 M Economic Package Mirrors U.S. Trump Campaign Spending
The Serbia Centre (SRCE) party released a statement asserting that Donald Trump’s official campaign committee spent roughly $450 million in the United States, not counting external organization costs. It compared this to Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić’s newly announced economic package valued at over €600 million, which SRCE claims is intended solely to purchase voter support using public funds. The party alleges Vučić uses state budget money to fund personal political survival, describing the measures as “legalised corruption” and warning that the per‑capita cost to Serbian citizens makes it the world’s most expensive pre‑election campaign.
SRCE further contrasted the private financing of U.S. campaigns with Vučić’s reliance on the national budget, accusing the Serbian government of diverting taxpayer money for vote‑buying and media propaganda.
